Laminar Flow Inversion & Oxygenation

EWR's Continuous Laminar Flow Inversion and Oxygenation is the most crucial part of their unique water improvement process. Unlike other systems, it oxygenates an entire body of water from top to bottom, with laminar flow inversion setting up for all the benefits afterward, like eutrophication reversal.

Environmental Waterway Restoration has developed innovative methods for cleaning up existing water resources like lakes, rivers, streams, etc., by using its unique aerator systems. These are much more effective than conventional ones because they produce better results while sustaining healthy aquatic life with minimal disruption from their process.

Laminar flow created by our systems is non-turbulent and will not increase suspended solids or increase turbidity. The opposite is true. Suspended solids and turbidity will be reduced. Our diffusers are placed on the bottom, not suspended above the sediments, to ensure oxygenation of the sediment-water interface. As the bubbles are released from a diffuser, oxygen is transferred to the water from the bubble. They also move water gently to the surface and across the surface, absorbing additional oxygen. Environmental Waterway Restoration's systems are designed to mix the surrounding waters thoroughly and evenly distribute dissolved oxygen throughout the sediments for efficient microbial utilization.

Continuous Laminar Flow Inversion Oxygenates Water and Removes Toxic Gases

Laminar flow inversion and oxygenation carry oxygenated, toxic gas-free surface water down through sediments on the bottom of lakes and rivers. It binds phosphorus and nitrogen to improve quality by reducing CO2 levels and removing hydrogen sulfide (H2S) or ammonia from sediment at its' roots level. Oxygenation also enables beneficial microorganisms living in these sediments to feed off carbon dioxide, producing an environment more conducive for aquatic insects that attract fish and improve health and population growth.

To promote a more healthy ecosystem, EWR designs laminar flow systems for specific bodies of water. These specially designed systems can help increase the inversion rate several times each day or week - depending on the engineering design created to prevent pollutants from entering these waters. The amount of inversion will rely entirely on the specific site and water body used while also taking factors such as depth and volume, basin bathymetry (the shape), current rates, aquatic weeds/algae growths present, and with thickness & composition of lake sediment.

Continuous laminar flow aeration and oxygenation provide a more stable water quality for the fish. The process has reduced nutrient levels, organic muck on top of the sediment, and foul odors surrounding ponds and lakes for decades.
